I live in an apartment, and my neighbor across the hall is horribly noisy, and when we ask to her to be quiet, she temporarily obliges, but then begins her excessively loud music again not too long after the initial request. She gets mad when we play with our dog and he barks (rarely, ask anyone else), but she seems to think her noise is ok. She has her radio blaring CONSTANTLY, and I can hear the WORDS in my apartment. Nothing works. What do you suggest?I think we should have a choice, in our own home, whether or not to listen to music. Ugh. | |

Roofs full of green plants could help fight global warming, say scientists
Kristin Getter, Michigan State University (MSU) horticulturist and colleagues, who conducted the study point out that green roofs are multi-functional. They found that green roofing an urban area of one million people would capture more than 55,000 tons of carbon. That's an amount "similar to removing more than 10,000 mid-sized SUVs or trucks off the road a year," their research stated.
Green roofs reduce heating and air conditioning costs, retain and detain storm water. Green roofs also absorb carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming, but nobody has measured the impact until now.

I am very curious to know that anyone has any idea that sponge can use as sound blocking to block all those unwanted noise from outside the car? Recently i am trying to DIY sound proof on my car. My car is very noisy because it did not come with a good sound insulation system. So i am thinking to stick sponge under my car mat and all the seats. I have tried stick inside all my doors already. It seems to be worked!!! But i have read a article said that sponge is not gonna work. We have to get a DYNAMAT product to block all the unwanted noise. | Does anyone live in a apartment with noisy neighbors or paper thin walls? | | I have a apartment that I am renting. When I first moved here it was quiet, but about 3 months into my lease I started noticing the noise upstairs. There are at least 5-7 people living above me. The foot traffic up there is unbelievable. The landlord allows people to live there who aren't even on the lease. This building is old and can't handle this much traffic. The landlord doesn't care who lives here or what's going on as long as he gets his rent check. They drop heavy stuff on the floor continuously,they stomp,wrestle,move furniture,blasting full volume surround sound tv and stereos all the time. My kitchen and bathroom radioators actually shake when they walk or run. Yes, run. These people are all adults running in a apartment. The kitchen and living are the worse. I know what room they are in at all times because they wear steel tip boots, clogs and heels and walk back and forth between the rooms several times per day with them on. Partial to blame is the building construction. There is no sound insulation whatsoever. The landlord is too cheap to do anything about it. This place is from the 1800's and it needs serious updating.
