| Music Production on Home Computer | | I'm an amature music producer. I use my computer and a cheap microphone that I bought from Wal-Mart for recording my vocals. I'm an aspiring female rap artist who's looking for more in the industry. I would love to get some seriously honest feedback on my music. Are there any other music producers that might have some tips for me on how to tweek my music to make it sound more professional. I know for sure that I need a better microphone. What else can I do as far as mixing and mastering to obtain that professional sound?
feel free to visit my page at: http://www.myspace.com/ladycalcal
I would love any type of feedback from anyone that knows anything about music. Thanks!

| | Art of music production | | Yes, i'm a producer but...
I'm writing cause i want to know what all people think about the art of music production!
Personally i think people don't need to be music students or stuff like "Master of opera songs".
To create music you just need creativity?
Surely!
you must be a little crazy one?
Probably yes!
For me music production is one of the best option to speak with hundred of persons at the same time!
Is the option to make your thoughts running out.
Ther's many methods to create music but the new millennium one is "Homemade music".
What do you think about?
Are you a music productor?
Is it your hobby?
free your soul about that kind of art;-)PS: Sorry 4 the english but i'm italian O_o' hihihihihih!

| | Getting started with music production! Help? | | I have little to no experience with producing music on the computer. I do, however, have more than enough musical background to make up for it. I want to be like that producer Rsherfan who's a rnb, rap, hip hop, and soul producer in Sydney, Australia. I played the trumpet from 4th-8th grade, moved to Florida and decided I won't do band and focus more on computers. I also play the piano keyboard(been playing since I was 4-5 in my dads band but the band stopped and I didn't really play for about 4-5 yrs after). When I was 8, I got a guitar for Christmas and I learned to play! The problem is that I haven't taken any courses related to music in high school, but I'm sure I want to learn in college. The thing is that I plan on majoring in computer & information sciences and I've taken some computer related courses in high school. My family notices my musical talent, so I believe music production is worth pursuing. I'm about to be 18 in a couple of days as well. Any suggestions? | |
| | Computers For Music production | | hi,I've used computers most of my life, pc's over the last 10 years but the depth of componants really confuse me. There's so much choice. I'm currently at a cross roads. I like to make music so I want the best system or atleast what I can afford and I was wondering in your opinions is it better to buy a pc from a store or build one? Which has the longer lasting potential? If i'm making music what is there anything specific I should look for? | |

| | Do you have to be a DJ to make good dance tracks? | | I am a Sound Engineer and Producer from the UK. I have only been making dance Music (house, techno, minimal) for the past 5 years and before that, had no experience in Making Music.I have just completed an Honours Degree in Sound Engineering so I have had training in using all sorts of hardware, software and effects. I now feel I can use all of the equipment I need to make a good track. However, I am not a DJ, but I make tracks that would usually be played by a DJ or in a club. There are certain techniques that one must know in order to create a DJ friendly track that would be played in a club environment and would allow the DJ to mix one track with another. So do you really have to be a DJ to make a good dance track? What are your feelings on this? Are you a DJ and Producer that can shed any light on this area for me?
