| | Vintage cassette tapes and walkmans. Anyone other who feels nostalgic? | | I have born in early seventies. There was a huge boom in home music recording
in 80´s when the c-cassettes came to market. Anyone with decent home hifi and record player was able to record their vinyl records to cassettes. That gave people to freedom to listen music in their walkman players nearly everywhere. I remember when I had my first portable cassette player because it consumed batteries so much. You could listen only few hours of music and it was quit big and not easy to carry like mp3 players and ipod players of today.
I´ve found also a vintage cassette tape website if you want to check it out.
You are able to actully send some photos of your old cassettes to the webmaster.

| | Describe your home music studio | | I am an aspiring music producer an am planning to build a home studio 3 to 5 months from now. Tell me, what does your home studio look like?1. Your choice of DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
2. Your Midi controller
3. Instruments (of course)
4. Your Preamps/audio interface
5. Computer/laptop power you're running
6. Additional information (e.g. room design, speacial gears, mixers, etc.)
6. And your genre:)As of now, for my DAW I use Logic Studio 9 and Ableton Live Lite 8, both running on Intel Core 2 Duo. I use M-audio Keystation es 61 as my MIDI controller and Shure SM57 Dynamic Microphone.:)

| Composing nowadays | | I can't belive that none of us started a similar topic:-D Music is a legal drug, then why don't you compose one? Making music on you PC is easier than ever!
My PC: CPU 2,66GHz, RAM 512MB, built-in Sound Card and I swear it's working perfectly:-DPersonally I used FastTracker2 until XP has shown up, now I use ReNoise 1.90
User-friendly GUI, low RAM and CPU requirements, VST support and other useful features. If u don't believe me, then download one of my masterpieces (made with FT2, not even Renoise which is way more better!) at http://www.alterpol.extra.hu

| | | what do you do when you're BORED??? | | I never feel so bored in my life. I really enjoy everything I do.
If I ran out of something to do-I can think of another so fast! Is that a talent?
Haha I don't know... It's been two years since the last time I worked. And now, I'm
a home-based girl. I always stay at home-except for some rare occassions that I
have to go out.
These are some of the things I do, when I can't think of anything else:
1. I vocalize. I sing the highest pitch of any song I have in mind. And then I have
to laugh at myself because I'm nothing good. HAHA
2. I listen to music. I'm a music lover. I listen to almost everything I hear, in
every place I go. If I'm not familiar with the song, I even stop for a while to
absorb each word. Haha. But at home, music is part of my daily routine. I cannot
pass a day without listening to music.
3. I draw anything. I have my drawing book ready for this times. I'm not a good
artist when it comes to drawing. I only draw flowers, trees, oceans, mountains and some animations.
4. I go to the mall alone. The only place I can have a peace of mind inside the mall is the book stores. So when you see a little lady sitting on the floor of a bookstore, holding books...
